In 2014, global investment in financial technology (fintech) ventures tripled to $12.21 billion. However, it is still unclear whether this new technology presents more of a challenge or an opportunity for the banking sector. Such a disruption may jeopardize potential profits for banks or on the flipside open up new sources of revenue.

Our panel explores the long term effect fintech might have on the industry. What steps are big financial services organizations taking to engage with these emerging innovations? Who are the major players leading the fintech market and what are the major opportunities driving investment? And what are some of the negative impacts of fintech and how can the financial sector avoid and mitigate against them?

This event was open to corporate members only.

The event was held under the Chatham House Rule and followed by a reception.
