Overview

Emma Sky will reflect on lessons learned from the 2003 American-led invasion of Iraq, drawing on her experiences as a political adviser to coalition forces and a confidante of US generals. Alongside other panellists, she will also offer her views of the current situation on the ground in Iraq.

The discussion will focus on the measures being taken by Iraq’s central government, its neighbours and the international community to recapture territory from ISIS, and consider the new alliances that have been born out of the fight against extremism.
