Overview

UN Assistant Secretary-General Dmitry Titov will discuss what more needs to be done in peace operations to adequately address the drivers and root causes of conflict. In particular, he will underscore the importance of building a basic foundation for a sustainable system of governance and security based on the principles of the rule of law. This discussion will also explore the concept of ‘peace sustainment’ - the activities that provide a bridge between post-conflict stabilization and long-term development.
