Marking Fifty Years Since the Six-Day War: What Next for Israel and Palestine?
Professor Itamar Rabinovich, President, The Israel Institute; Israel's Ambassador to the United States (1992–96)
Chair: Yossi Mekelberg, Associate Fellow, Middle East and North Africa Programme, Chatham House
5 June marks the 50 year anniversary of the Six-Day War. Itamar Rabinovich, author of Yitzhak Rabin’s biography, will discuss the lasting impact the war continues to have on the region. He will also explore the future possibilities for Israeli-Palestinian relations and the impact that new leaderships around the world could have on the future of geopolitics in the region.
What effect will a Trump Presidency have on the delicate dynamics between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority? Have other conflicts in the region overshadowed international peacekeeping efforts? And is the two-state solution still a viable option?
