Central Asia is generally considered to have widespread and increasing problems with ‘Muslim radicalization.’ This roundtable will analyze the international security discourse on this issue and its impact on common threat perceptions and policy initiatives.  The event will coincide with the publication of the speakers' research paper The Myth of Post-Soviet Muslim Radicalization in the Central Asian Republics. This event is part of  their project on Islam, Secularism and International Security in Central Asia and Beyond, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council and the British Council USA.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
