Overview

Nigeria's economy fell into recession in 2016, yet this dominant African economy, with its growing consumer base and young population, will remain attractive to foreign investors, particularly if the government's plans to restore growth and revitalize the economy are successful. But the scale and complexity of Nigeria has often been a deterrent to small- and medium-sized UK companies in the non-oil sector. A thorough understanding of the environment and familiarity with the rules, regulations and conventions are essential, and Nigerian SMEs are confronted with many of these same challenges.

At this Nigeria APPG event, a panel of diaspora business leaders with an understanding of the Nigerian market will share their experiences and insights into the practicalities and complexities of doing business in Nigeria.
