Overview

Drawing on personal experiences, the speaker will argue governments must be willing to negotiate with terrorist groups in order to end armed conflicts. He will consider a variety of examples, from Northern Ireland and Colombia to Sri Lanka and Burma, among others, and will also offer his thoughts on how best to deal with the current threat of Islamic State.
