Press Briefing: Heat, Light and Power for Refugees
Overview
The human tragedy of the current refugee crisis shows no signs of abating. Recently characterised by Angela Merkel as 'one of the greatest litmus tests Europe has ever faced', the crisis is likely to escalate as winter temperatures drop.
At this press briefing, experts and members of the consortium behind the Moving Energy Initiative will present the first ever cost estimates of energy used by the nearly 60 million forcibly displaced people around the world, including implications for private sector providers. They will outline a series of recommendations made in the forthcoming report, Heat, Light and Power for Refugees: Saving Lives, Reducing Costs, which will be published on 17 November.
Attendees will receive an embargoed copy of the report.
This event is for journalists only.
