Regional Tensions and Internal Community Relations in the GCC
GCC states face significant foreign policy challenges from a region increasingly defined by growing conflict, shifting political alliances, complex issues of identity and competing visions for the future. This workshop seeks to better understand the impact of regional turmoil on the GCC states at the local level. In particular, discussion will focus on how tensions in the Gulf neighbourhood affect internal community relations within GCC states. Moreover, the workshop will also examine the extent to which religious, communal and ethnic identities in the GCC affect the domestic and foreign policies of the Gulf states.
This workshop is organized in partnership with the Alsalam Center for Strategic and Developmental Studies.
