The Role of Big Data In Tackling Economic Challenges

12 November 2015 - 08:00 to 09:15

Chatham House, London

Diana Farrell, President and Chief Executive Officer, JPMorgan Chase Institute

Big data has enormous potential to reshape both the global economy and our ability to understand complex phenomena, but its precise implications remain unclear. Diana Farrell will use insights from the recently launched JPMorgan Chase Institute to examine the impact of big data on policy-making. Taking data from a variety of sources, such as income and consumption volatility in US households, Ms Farrell will draw upon this research to explain how big data can be used to tackle complex economic challenges.
This event is part of the US Project’s series on US and European Perspectives on Common Economic Challenges. Conducted with the support of the Bank of New York Mellon, this series examines some of the principal global challenges that we face today and potentially differing perspectives from across Europe and the US.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
