The Role of Cote d'Ivoire's National Assembly in Delivering Democracy and Accountability
Côte d’Ivoire emerged from a decade of instability to a period of unprecedented economic growth, averaging above 8 percent.
However, despite reconciliation efforts, the country remains largely divided. The Ivorian government will need to prioritize political reconciliation, restrictions on the influence of the security forces in political life and initiatives to ensure that economic development are inclusive.
This cross-party parliamentary delegation from Côte d’Ivoire will discuss progress in establishing democratic governance and accountability, and will examine the National Assembly's role and contribution in addressing economic, social and political challenges.
