At this event, Peter Kaznacheev, author of 'Curse or Blessing? How Institutions Determine Success in Resource-Rich Economies', and Jack Farchy will consider how Russia’s political and economic institutions are likely to be affected by the changing global energy environment, including lower oil prices. Will Russia stick to the traditional rentier-state model or are we likely to see elements of modernization? What institutional lessons can be learned from the shale revolution and other innovations in oil and gas-producing countries?
