Russia’s Nord Stream 2 Project: Implications for the EU

The EU is preparing to negotiate with Gazprom over the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project, which would run from Russia to western Europe under the Baltic Sea and have the same throughput capacity as Nord Stream 1. This event will focus on the challenges Nord Stream 2 presents to the political, energy and security interests of the EU and its neighbourhood. Ilya Zaslavskiy, author of The Kremlin’s Gas Games in Europe, will offer brief initial remarks, followed questions and discussion.
