Rwanda Under the RPF: Assessing Twenty Years of Post-Conflict Governance
This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the coming to power of the Rwandan Patriotic Front. Over the past two decades the ruling party has presided over a period of stabilization, reconstruction and development but has also been the subject of controversy and criticism regarding governance, human rights, and the reach of the state.
A special edition of the Journal of Eastern African Studies examines 20 years of RPF rule. At this event the speakers will discuss the policy implications of the articles in the special edition, with specific reference to resistance, state building and development policy.
