Overview

Deflation, stagnation and low productivity combined to produce Zimbabwe’s economic crisis, which has been exacerbated by low commodity prices, weak regional currencies and drought. Efforts to reengage the international community to avert a deepening crisis have stalled as a result of domestic political events.

This event will launch the Africa Programme paper, 'The Domestic and External Implications of Zimbabwe’s Economic Reform and Re-engagement Agenda', at a policy dialogue session at the SAPES Trust, Harare.
