Leaving the European Union will be the biggest disruption in Britain’s international relations since the end of its empire. However the Brexit negotiations conclude, the UK’s position in the world will be fundamentally changed, yet informed public discussion of the choices that lie ahead has hardly begun.

Simon Fraser will examine the implications of Brexit for Britain’s foreign policy priorities, its external relationships and its place in the international system, making proposals for how this debate should best be taken forward by the UK government and others.
