Overview

This workshop, held in cooperation with the Rights and Resources Initiative, will discuss the particular challenges and opportunities that legality verification requirements pose for small-scale and community forest producers. The aim of the meeting will be to identify what is needed to help overcome identified challenges and to expand opportunities. It will also explore innovations in business models that enable buyers to engage with small-scale and community forest producers, including ensuring that the legality of timber from such enterprises can be verified.

The workshop will bring together up to 40 experts from around the world, including producer group and industry representatives, policy makers and technical experts. An outline agenda can be found below.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
