Julius Malema, President and Commander in Chief, Economic Freedom Fighters
Chair: Alec Russell, News Editor, Financial Times

Overview

The 2014 elections saw the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) become the largest black majority opposition party in South Africa's parliament. Although the EFF has been criticized for its outspoken approach since its founding in 2013, it has catalysed debate on high-profile issues, including the release of the Marikana Commission of Inquiry report, the investigation into presidential spending by the constitutional court and the cost of university education.

Julius Malema will discuss the EFF’s position on South Africa’s economic, political and social challenges and the role of opposition parties in South Africa.
