Overview

The speaker will examine the geopolitical dynamics at play in the South China Sea, home to the world's busiest trade routes and a labyrinth of overlapping maritime claims. Specifically, she will explore the strategic calculation, decision-making process and politics that drive the behaviour of China, and in turn modify the geostrategic motives of its ASEAN neighbours.
