Overview

Effective and accountable institutions are essential for inclusive economic development. In the Seychelles, with a population of just 95,000, these safeguards of democracy are particularly important, and the government is promoting the agenda, Transparency Accountability and Good Governance (TAGG). Such an approach must be supported by broader citizen empowerment and education.

At this meeting, HE Danny Faure, president of the Republic of Seychelles, will discuss the government’s strategy for strengthening democratic institutions in the country, their importance for development, and lessons learned.
