Overview

The increased reliance on the internet of things (IoT) brings with it great opportunities and challenges. It will transform our daily lives, changing the way we manage transportation, health and our homes.

With these advancements however come serious cybersecurity risks as was illustrated by the 'Wannacry' attack earlier this year. It also raises questions over how managing these risks is becoming increasingly important to how we keep society safe.

At this roundtable, Chi Onwurah MP shares her view of what government and policymakers can and should do to help protect society from negative applications of the IoT.

The Chatham House Rule
