Overview

At a time when domestic political backlashes against immigration, inequality, corporate malfeasance and the stagnation of real incomes are being reinforced by uncertainties about the durability of the current international order, the speakers will discuss how the UK and Japan might enhance their awareness and understanding of each other’s perspectives, and differences, to help each other promote solutions more effectively in multilateral forums.

The event will launch the speakers’ co-authored essay entitled ‘The UK, Japan and the Changing International Order’, available in the conference report The Future of Capitalist Democracy: UK-Japan Perspectives

This event is funded by The Nippon Foundation and held in partnership with The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
