Despite two years of anti-corruption efforts, Ukraine still ranks high in terms of corruption. Some efforts in deregulation and reform of public procurement have partially cleaned the system. However, the institutional environment remains weak, conducive to shadow economic activities, influence of strong vested interests and violation of property rights. What kind of strategies do multinational corporations develop to mitigate the market-associated costs and develop legitimacy in the host market?
