Overview

As the conflict in the east begins its fourth year of fighting, approximately 1.7 million Ukrainians have been internally displaced from the Donbas region and Crimea. Their status of internally displaced persons (IDPs) guarantees them certain rights but also creates many challenges for social integration and the protection of their status as fully-fledged citizens in the regions they move to.

At this roundtable, a panel of experts will discuss the outcomes of population displacement in Ukraine. How are the authorities in Kyiv addressing this issue? What has been the response of civil society to the IDP crisis? And can IDPs hold the key to future peace settlements?

The event is organized in cooperation with the Atlantic Council and the University of Birmingham.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
