The US Rebalancing to Asia: A Korean Perspective

The speaker will argue that Washington’s strategic focus on the South and East China Sea areas has deflected its attention from North Korea. He will assert that the United States should continue to act as a stabilizer for regional peace while expanding its role in multilateral efforts. Rather than continuing with its strategy of 'strategic patience', Washington should boost its endeavours to freeze the North Korean nuclear programme before moving on to the process of denuclearization.
