The Way Forward for Yemen: Saudi Perspectives

24 May 2017 - 9:00am to 2:00pm

The Royal Society, London

As a state of emergency is declared in Sanaa, prospects for ending the Yemen conflict face persisting political and security challenges and the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen perseveres despite international aid pledges. This workshop aims to shed light on the status of the political process and negotiations to settle the conflict, key developments in security and counterterrorism measures and Saudi Arabia's priorities and position towards the complex challenges of the Yemen crisis.

The workshop is meant to provide a forum for a frank discussion on Saudi perspectives on the conflict, bringing together stakeholders and experts to discuss the political, economic and defence angles of the crisis and prospects for conflict resolution mechanisms.

This event is hosted by the Gulf Research Center in collaboration with the Middle East and North Programme at Chatham House.
