This event will see the launch of two Chatham House Working Group Reports on Global Health Governance and Financing.
Following a conference to mark the tenth anniversary of the report of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health in December 2011, Chatham House established two high-level working groups to examine critical issues in global health governance and financing. The governance group, chaired by Viroj Tangcharoensathien, examined the role of WHO in global health governance against the background of WHO’s ongoing process of internal reform. The financing group, chaired by John-Arne Røttingen, examined what needed to be done, nationally and internationally, to provide a global framework for sustainable health financing in order to achieve universal health coverage.
At this event, presentations of the two reports will be followed by comments from panellists and open discussion about the issues raised. The meeting will be followed by a reception for further informal discussion.
The event is being held in cooperation with the Global Health Programme at the Graduate Institute. Please note that the location of this event is Geneva. The time of the event is 17:30-19:15 BST and 18:30-20:15 local time.
