The World in 2017: Liberalism in Retreat?
Dr Robin Niblett CMG, Director, Chatham House
Chair: Sir Jeremy Greenstock GCMG, Member of Council, Chatham House
Chatham House Director Dr Robin Niblett will present his outlook for international relations over the coming year, reflecting on the future of the liberal international order. He will argue that the order built by Western powers after the end of the Second World War is now threatened by a rejection of globalization and political fragmentation in the West, as well as increased risks of confrontation internationally. He will examine developments in Europe, the United States and Asia and consider what these could mean for geopolitics and the global economy in the months ahead.
To enable as open a debate as possible, this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
This event is only open to Major Corporate Member and Partner organizations of Chatham House. If you would like to register your interest, please RSVP to Linda Bedford. We will contact you to confirm your attendance.
