Overview

Zimbabwe is in the grips of an economic crisis driven by lack of competitiveness and confidence. The Ministry of Finance and the Reserve Bank are spearheading a reform agenda that is intended to improve the business environment and lead to rapprochement with international financial institutions and external creditors. For reform to succeed it will need sustained political backing, and the support and trust of domestic consumers and the international community. Failure would accelerate economic decline, which could lead to a regional humanitarian crisis.

At this meeting Zimbabwe's minister of finance and economic development, Hon Patrick Chinamasa, will discuss the government's economic agenda and how it seeks to build the trust and confidence needed to succeed.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
