As a direct response to the war in Ukraine, Finland and Sweden have applied to join NATO and are on an accelerated membership track, several other European states have significantly re-shaped their defence priorities and military investment, and the Arctic is re-emerging as a competitive arena after decades of peaceful cooperation.
This invitation-only roundtable provides an opportunity to discuss these timely topics and Permanent State Secretary Jukka Salovaara gives remarks on the security situation in Europe, Finland’s role in it, and the country’s plans for the future, followed by a Q&A.
Guests include Chatham House researchers as well as other members of the London foreign and security policy community.
