Labour – Grace 1 Suite, Hilton Hotel, Liverpool

This session will assess the UK’s role in an increasingly unpredictable geopolitical landscape, how the government is looking to rebuild key alliances and where Britain will collaborate with like-minded partners to address shared global concerns.

  • What is the UK’s role in navigating unpredictable great power dynamics as we move beyond the ‘super-year’ of elections?
  • What is the government doing to improve the UK’s relations with Europe and enhance geopolitical and security cooperation with the European Union?
  • With conflict raging in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan and more, what actions can the Labour government take to address global insecurity?
  • How can the UK strengthen global governance on key issues such as poverty reduction, climate policy, technology governance and arms control?
  • With shared global concerns from climate change to reform of multilateral institutions, how is Labour working with states across the Global South?
  • How will the government balance short-term crises with long-term threats in its foreign policy?
