Minorities, the Law and the Judiciary

24 April 2007 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Chatham House, London

Judge Raúl Zaffaroni, Argentine Supreme Court
HE Federico Mirré, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to the UK

Judge Zaffaroni will discuss whether the law really protects minority groups from public and private marginalization and discrimination in Argentina. Are effective mechanisms really available for minorities to access justice? Do political or procedural problems jeopardize the solution of cases on merit? How effectively are the available channels used by minority groups and their lawyers?
