Overview

The Institute for the Study of the Americas (ISA), University of London & Chatham House Latin America & the Caribbean Research Project.

Alan Angell, recently retired University Lecturer in Latin American Politics, Fellow of St Antony's College and former Director of the Latin American Centre at the University of Oxford, has been a key referent in the study of modern politics in Chile throughout his long and distinguished academic career.

The launch of his most recent book, 'Democracy after Pinochet: Politics, Parties, and Elections in Chile' forms the backdrop for this event at which colleagues and friends will reflect on Alan's remarkable career and contribution to the Latin Americanist community in the UK and to scholarship worldwide.
