Overview

Gaston Chillier will present the recently-published 2007 CELS Annual Report on the human rights situation in Argentina. His discussion will focus primarily on the newly reopened process of justice for the crimes of the military Juntas, emphasising the major challenges to CELS' goal of building a democratic state that protects human rights - such as weak state institutions and social exclusion - and the various difficulties that the State has faced in its attempt to manage and institutionalise public policies which safeguard rights.
