Overview

This event marked the launch of the Defra Sustainable Clothing Roadmap in association with Chatham House. The meeting, led by Dorothy Maxwell (Defra), Inge Woudstra-Van Grondelle (Chatham House) and Michael Massey (Chatham House), aimed to engage stakeholders from the clothing and fashion industry of the Sustainable Clothing Roadmap to improve the sustainability performance of clothing.

The workshop provded a forum to discuss the business case for sustainable clothing and the sustainability impacts of clothing and offered a shared understanding of what the current evidence show and where the gaps are; as well as identifying opportunities for improvement. Minister Joan Ruddock, Minister for Climate Change, Biodiversity & Waste also attended the meeting giving an introduction to open the meeting.
