EMU@10 - Success and Challenges After Ten Years of Economic and Monetary Union
A full decade after Europe's leaders took the historic decision to launch Economic and Monetary Union, the euro has emerged a resounding success. It has become the second most important currency in the world; it has brought economic stability; it has promoted economic and financial integration, and generated trade and growth among its members. At the same time, the internal functioning of EMU and its external representation could be strengthened.
