Arms Control, Non-Proliferation and the UK Independent Nuclear Deterrent
Dr Paul Cornish, Head, International Security Programme, Chatham House
The Administration of US President Barack Obama has brought new energy to international arms control and non-proliferation negotiations. Dr Paul Cornish will discuss the purpose of these renewed negotiations - the containment of adversarial relationships, or the lasting achievement of a disarmed world? - and will ask where the UK's independent nuclear deterrent and its proposed replacement fit in to the debate.
This event is strictly by invitation only.
To enable as open a debate as possible, this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
