Balancing Ends, Ways and Means in Afghanistan

Chatham House, London

Participants

Col Philip Wilkinson OBE, Associate Fellow, International Security Programme, Chatham House

Overview

The role of the International Security Assistance Force was greatly enlarged in 2005/2006 to include the establishment of the rule of law and the extension of the writ of the central government into the provinces. How successful has this mission been? Would it be a different story with more resources? Col Wilkinson will take this opportunity to discuss the major barriers to success in Afghanistan.
