Chatham House, London

Speaker: Dr Nabeel A Khoury, Director, Near East South Asia Office, US Department of State
Chair: Ginny Hill, freelance journalist, film-maker, and author of the Chatham House Briefing Paper 'Yemen: Fear of Failure'

Dr Khoury will assess the security and military dimensions of the crisis in Yemen within the overall context of the political and economic problems facing the state. Further to this, the speaker will propose remedial actions that can be taken both internally by the regime, and by external actors.

In 2003, during the Iraq war, he served as Department spokesperson at the US Central Command in Doha and Baghdad.

The meeting will be held under the Chatham House Rule.

Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
