The Research Institute for Peace and Security (RIPS) in Tokyo has been commissioned by the Japanese Foreign Ministry to engage in extensive intellectual and policy discussions with European counterparts on East Asian security and Japanese security policy. In the context of Japan's new administration, the delegates will discuss key issues including 'The Rise of China and Japan's Response'; 'Japan's Economic and Social Agenda'; 'Changing International Order and Japan's Security'; and 'North Korea and Japan's Security'. Following this meeting the delegation will visit Berlin, Paris and Warsaw.
