Overview

As part of the Procurement for Development Forum meeting series, this event will look at the challenges for food businesses of sourcing from countries with a high incidence of HIV/AIDS and opportunities for collaborative partnerships.

Chatham House and DFID will host this event to highlight the impact of HIV/AIDS on workforce retention and recruitment, as well as related consequences for supply chain sustainability. The event will focus on the business case for food businesses to become part of multi-stakeholder responses to HIV/AIDS reduction strategies. Speakers and participants will be encouraged to share first hand experiences and best practices in farm and community level engagement. The goal of the meeting is to identify critical areas for action, including possible measures to be integrated into ethical procurement strategies and HIV/AIDS reduction programmes.

Attendance at this event is strictly by invitation only.
