In 2006 the British Government decided to replace the Trident nuclear deterrent. Four years on from this decision, and with greater attention being given to the future of Britain's nuclear deterrent, the speaker will look at this decision and its implications in light of the new US-Russia treaty and the new US Nuclear Posture Review.
