Yemen, the Region and the World: Perceptions of Regional and International Interests

Participants will be involved in roundtable discussions to examine the West's stated commitment to support development in Yemen, questions of security and migration and the potential role of wider regional powers.

The meeting will comprise of three sessions:

  • Yemen and the West: A genuine 'partnership'?
  • Yemen and the GCC: A 'safe neighbourhood' policy?
  • Yemen and Somalia: A wide gulf?

The discussion forms part of Chatham House's Yemen Forum, which has been established to raise awareness, share expertise and support policy-makers and build a specialist global network focused on Yemen.

This event is jointly organized by Chatham House and the Sheba Centre for Strategic Studies, Sana'a. The event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
