Overview

On the first anniversary of the end of fighting, the speaker will examine allegations of violations of international humanitarian law by the Sri Lankan security forces and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam (LTTE) during the last five months of their 30-year civil war. She will argue that there is a case for an independent international inquiry as a necessary step in making Sri Lanka's tenuous and bitter peace more just and sustainable.
