Overview

Global issues barely got a mention during the election campaign - but the new coalition will not be able to ignore them in government. The speakers will explore the UK's response to a volatile and highly uncertain global environment, arguing that the government needs to define its international mission as managing global risks on behalf of British citizens and undertake a deep-seated programme of reform to meet its policy goals.

The speakers have co-authored a paper as part of Chatham House project on Rethinking the UK's International Ambitions and Choices.
