Bruce Stokes, author, 2010 Pew Global Attitudes Survey



The speaker will present the findings of the 2010 Pew Global Attitudes Survey, which will be published on 17 June. Since 2001, this comprehensive, annual public opinion survey has been conducted in 57 countries and interviewed more than 200,000 people.

Mr Stokes will focus on attitudes towards President Obama, the state of anti-Americanism both in Europe and the rest of the world, and attitudes towards key public policy issues such as Afghanistan, Iran, climate change and trade. He will also discuss the rise of China and reactions to the financial crisis, particularly in Europe.

Bruce Stokes is one of the authors of the annual Pew Global Attitudes Survey. He is also the international economics columnist for National Journal, a weekly Washington public policy magazine, and a monthly columnist for the European Voice, Brussels. Mr Stokes is also a transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund and author of GMF's 2009 Transatlantic Trends Survey.
