The Future of the Eurozone

22 June 2010 - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Chatham House, London

David Marsh, Co-chairman, Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum and author of The Euro: the politics of the new global currency
Dr Paola Subacchi, Research Director, International Economics, Chatham House

In the light of the rapidly evolving Euro crisis, the outlook for many Eurozone economies and the future of the Euro remain fairly grim. The Greek debt crisis has exposed the need for tougher and smarter governance in Europe but will the European governments be able to achieve more credible and effective policies required to restore fiscal discipline and ensure economic growth? A discussion between David Marsh and Dr Paola Subacchi will reflect on some of the pressing issues in the debate and offer their views for the way forward.

There will be an open reception from 17.00.
