Rethinking Business For A Changing World

14 October 2010 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Chatham House, London

Stephen Green, Group Chairman, HSBC Holdings plc
Chair: Dr Robin Niblett, Director, Chatham House

As the economy stutters in the wake of financial crisis and recession, the speaker will argue that a dynamic market system remains critical to economic development and the future of people and the planet. However, the recent turmoil has also highlighted the need to think sustainably about the business we do and the way that we do it. Drawing on his extensive business experience as well as his book, Good Value: Reflections on Money Morality and an Uncertain World, Stephen Green, who will assume the role of Minister of State for Trade and Investment next year, will ask whether and how business can make a wider contribution in a world where inequality, extremism and resource security are some of the key challenges for the generation ahead.
