One Year after the Independent Report on the Conflict in Georgia: Responses and Updates

On 2 December 2008 an Independent International Fact-Finding Mission was set up by the Council of the European Union to investigate the origins and course of the August 2008 conflict in Georgia. The Mission presented its final report on 30 September 2009. Ambassador Heidi Tagliavini, head of the Mission, will discuss the report's findings and, one year after its publication, provide updates and a response to commentaries from the parties involved and other experts. Ambassador Tagliavini will speak for approximately 25 minutes, followed by an hour of questions and discussion.
