Investigating Civilian Casualties in Pakistan

27 October 2010 - 16:00 to 17:30

Chatham House, London

Senator Afrasiab Khattak, President, Awami National Party, Khyber Pakthunkhwa
Christopher Rogers, Field Fellow, Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict

Findings from the Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflict (CIVIC) show that there were more civilian casualties in Pakistan than neighbouring Afghanistan last year - a fact that has been largely overlooked by both the media and governments. The speakers, who have documented civilian losses in Pakistan over the past year, will discuss these findings, the consequences for US and Pakistani policy and military operations, and the implications for civilians on the ground.
